Jim Winston

President of the National Association of Black Owned Broadcasters (NABOB)

James L. Winston is President of the National Association of Black Owned Broadcasters, division within the U.S. Black Chambers. Inc. Mr. Winston also is Of Counsel to the Washington, DC. law firm of Rubin, Winston, Diercks, Harris & Cooke, L.L.P.
Mr. Winston joined NABOB in 1982 and leads NABOB’s Federal Communications Commission and advertising industry outreach efforts.
Mr. Winston is a graduate of the Harvard Law School and is admitted to practice law in the District of Columbia, New York and Massachusetts. Mr. Winston also holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Pennsylvania.
Relevant Industry Experience/Accomplishments:
During the 1980s and early 1990s, Mr. Winston helped NABOB grow to 250 radio stations and 25 television stations. Today, NABOB represents the interests of 227 radio stations and 32 television stations. Mr. Winston also helped create the NABOB Telecommunications Education and Management Foundation, a 501(c)(3) foundation, which is engaged in educating the next generation of broadcast industry leaders. Mr. Winston has received numerous industry honors for his work with NABOB and the Foundation.
