Washington, DC- Today marks Super Tuesday: the first day of the presidential election cycle when the greatest number of U.S. states hold primary elections and caucuses. More delegates to the presidential nominating conventions can be won on Super Tuesday than on any other day.
Leading up to the 2020 Presidential Election, USBC has launched the Your Business Your Vote (YBYV) initiative to ensure Black business owners have a voice in the 2020 election. USBC President Ron Busby released the following statement regarding the initiative:
“Black business owners are unique voters with unique hybrid issues that intersect race, social issues, small business policies, and the economy.
As the voice of the nation’s Black business owners we will be aggressive and adamant about ensuring the issues impacting Black business owners are heard during the 2020 Election. Following the Trump years, it’s crucial that the Black community leverages its voting power to elect the best fit candidate; there’s too much at stake,” said USBC President Ron Busby.
To address the concerns of Black business owners the USBC’s Your Business Your Vote initiative will host a series of 1-on-1 talks with presidential candidates. The YBYV initiative is a non-partisan campaign to amplify the issues impacting Black business owners. Spanning from 2019 to present day, USBC President Ron Busby has held 1-on-1 talks with: Mayor Pete Buttigieg, Governor Steve Bullock, and Congressman John Delaney.
